About the Department
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1995. The first batch of students graduated from this department in July 1999.

With the present world of automation / computerization / industrialization and fast developments, Electrical and Electronics becomes the main branch and nervous system. To meet the needs and challenges, the department of electrical and electronics Engineering in Velammal Engineering College has a firm commitment to develop and produce stalwart Electrical Engineers of high technical knowledge combined with leadership skills, decision making, design capabilities and problem solving.

Programme Educational Objectives

To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to solve complex engineering problems.
To train the students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend, analyze, design and create novel products and solutions for real time problems.
To inculcate in students professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach, and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
