Department of Computer Science and Engineering aims to produce computing graduates with high potency, apply, design and develop systems to pertain and to integrate both software and hardware devices, utilize modern approaches in programming and problem solving techniques. The Department was established in the year 1995 with the main objective of providing quality education in the field of Engineering. It is recognized as nodal centre under Anna University. The Department has proved to be a centre of excellence in Academic, Sponsored research and Continuing Education Programme.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering established in 1995 with an intake of 180 to impart quality education with stated vision and mission. We train and educate engineers of outstanding ability who can become leaders in their profession.
The Department offers course on Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programme in Engineering with the total strength of 700 which is highest in number.
Extracurricular and Technical activities like Symposium, Conference Entrepreneurship cell events for students.
The Department is equipped with the state-of-the art laboratories. It is Accredited by NBA-AICTE in the year 2019 for 3 years (2002 for 3 years, 2007 for 3 years,2012 for 2 years, 2016 for 3 years).

Five Days Internship for Diploma Students
Besides K12 education institutions, we also serve the higher education segment with prestigious Velammal Engineering College and Velammal Medical College, Hospital & Research center.
Velammal Engineering College was established in the year 1995-96 to impart quality education. It is a self-financing non-minority institution, affiliated to Anna University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also an ISO-certified institution.
Five years back Velammal Group made its foray into healthcare, and within this short span, Velammal Medical College Hospital with its state-of-the-art infrastructure, expert medical team, and paramedical staff have contributed substantially to the growth of a healthy community in Madurai & southern districts.
The curriculum is designed in such a way that it will enable the students to solve many everyday problems through various applications in computer science. The design will be able to solve solution-oriented applications which help to obtain solutions over real world problems. Design of Curriculum through Autonomy and updating of Syllabi in line with latest technology so as to meet Industrial needs. Subjects are grouped and designed based on the domain.
